Links to the various flood stories I’ve written up are below. There are a great number of similarities in the flood stories that were present in the near eastern ancient world. The flood story was obviously a part of many cultures and their interactions led to some similar sounding stories. Just as dying and rising gods were a feature that showed up again and again, so too were the floods. Whether because of some remarkable original event or simply because the same stories resonated with all the different peoples of the time, these tales still echo in our culture today.
