The artist is Hrana Janto (which I didn't know when I first found the image!) - and it seems I need permission to use this one, so if the image changes you'll know why!

Hi, I got the fantastic image from here:

http://www.sgeier.net/fractals/index07.php

It's a great site where the author allows us web people to use his images for free! Good luck with the book as well, it certainly sounds interesting!

Dear Magisteria~

A great post, many thanks. I am writing here because I have a request.

I would like to use the infinity image you have embedded here on the front cover of a book I'm having published on the Paradoxical nature of Reality, the teachings of Christ and post-metaphysical theology...

I need to get permission for this for my publishers and would really appreciate if you could let me know who/where the image comes from... or if its your image and you are OK with me using it on the cover of my book.

Thanks again for the site, very good informative and challenging material. I hope to hear from you soon. Kind regards,

Cameron

This was my scary halloween post - I think at this stage the risk of getting this disease is probably not worth avoiding any surgery - unless it's cosmetic.

first, yey for inspiration, more of that sort of thing :)
This reminds me lots of conversations past about whether it is possible we participate in the divine but are so constrained by our physical form that we are like those poor cave dwellers seeing a flicker of candlelight and trying to become an awareness of the Sun we have never seen. But such an unsympathetic participation for precious glimpses of life to be lost in a frenzy of Krishna's casual disregard and then Arjuna's unswerving acceptance of it to the point of mindless bloodlust. I shall go and think aout this more and read again.

The first writings about the Buddha that we have were a few hundred years after his death, around the time of Ceaser. It's difficult now to separate the mythical accounts from any historical person, but it is reckoned that he lived around 450 BCE (ish) By the time of the first writings about Christ (60+ CE) we had already had Confucius, Buddha, The Vedas, the Upanishads, Socrates, Plato, Aristotle, Mencius, Pythagoras, Diogenes, Zeno, the Torah, Jeremiah, Isiah, Hosea, Rabbi Hillel, Zarathustra, and many others. Christianity is a late comer to the religious game!
